First Shows for the 2027 Glasgow International Comedy Festival Announced

The first headline shows for the 2027 Glasgow International Comedy Festival have been announced today, with Alan Carr, Fascinating Aïda and Jimeoin all set to return to the festival at the King’s Theatre.

Alan Carr performed at the very first Glasgow International Comedy Festival back in 2003, appearing at The Cul De Sac on Glasgow’s Southside. For 2027, the Celebrity Traitors winner returns for three nights at the King’s Theatre this March.

His brand-new show, Have I Said Too Much?, promises hilarious stories from the dating pool, awkward encounters in showbiz green rooms, and plenty of tales from the Traitors turret.

Fascinating Aïda also return to GICF with a brand-new show after headlining the festival in 2025. Dillie Keane, Liza Pulman and Adèle Anderson, alongside pianist Michael Roulston, are back on the road following their hugely successful 40th Anniversary Tour.

Jimeoin returns to both GICF and the King’s Theatre after selling out his 2025 performances. The Irish comedian’s cheeky, no-gimmicks humour and brilliantly observed material are sure to leave audiences in stitches once again.

Festival Director Krista MacDonald said:

“The 2025 and 2026 Glasgow International Comedy Festivals both broke records, so we’re delighted to announce Alan Carr, Fascinating Aïda and Jimeoin as our first acts for 2027.

“It doesn’t feel that long since the curtain came down on the 2026 festival, so it’s fantastic to already be revealing our first shows for next year.”

The Glasgow International Comedy Festival will run from 10–28 March 2027.

Tickets for Fascinating Aïda and Jimeoin go on general sale at 10am on Friday 29 May. Fans can access an exclusive pre-sale on Thursday 28 May by signing up to the GICF mailing list.

Tickets for Alan Carr’s show on Thursday, 18 March 2027 are available now.
