A comedic, time-travelling dive back to the gloriously chaotic 90s, Holy Shift follows a mum who finds herself raising a teenager whose idea of rebellion is… becoming a saint. Sin, she understands. She’s been there, done that, and still owns the mixtapes. But a holy uprising? This she did not see coming. Desperate to decode her daughter’s sudden devotion, she cracks open her teenage diary-an overstuffed time capsule of heartbreak, hope, questionable crushes, and the kind of melodrama only the 90s could produce. As she reads, she blasts the Madonna anthems that once saved her teenage soul, songs preaching empowerment, reinvention, and the sacred art of surviving adolescence with her eyeliner intact. What starts as a bewildered quest to understand her daughter becomes an unexpected journey back to the messy, electric girl she used to be-and the parts of her she thought she’d grown out of.
