Actress Lubna Kerr explores her family’s journey sharing the challenges encountered with humour and emotion. Tickbox 2 raises issues about race, perception and identity. Like many migrants they used food to make friends but when no one had heard of a samosa, how can the barriers be broken down?
This newly updated version, which is redirected by Jairus Obayomi, explores lived experience of growing up as a person of colour in Scotland. It has the potential to engage a wider non-traditional, non-white theatre audience whilst sharing an important story of race and stereotype to more typical audiences.
You might have seen Lubna as Mina in Still Game at the Hydro in 2014. See her play all the characters from Brown Owl to the acting agent, in her own engaging style, in her first play Tickbox 2 which is now touring across the UK receiving several 4 star reviews.
