The Glad Cafe
Glasgow
The Glad Cafe is a not-for-profit cafe, bar, and multi-arts venue in the heart of Glasgow's Southside. Our very eclectic programme of events has hosted shows with a wide range of world class musicians from Rustie to Ogoya Nengo, whilst also showcasing many up and coming local acts; add to this events such as The Glad Academy (which has featured speakers like Nicola Sturgeon, Liz Lochhead, Gerry Hassan and Elaine C. Smith talking on big subjects), regular film screenings, comedy nights, and small theatre productions, plus after school workshops run by The Glad Foundation, and you get a sense of what a vibrant community arts hub The Glad is.
The beautiful bar, designed by Gerry Thomson and Simon Harlow, is wheelchair accessible and stocks a wide range of drinks: beers from local and international independent breweries, wines by the glass and bottle, a great range of quality soft drinks plus a fully vegan menu including our much loved pizzas served from 12-9pm.
