Songs for the 2020s

Committee Room No. 9

Thursday 12th March 2026

Show time: 5:00pm

Songs for the 2020’s – hosted by Majk Stokes, with special guests Brian Mooney and Stevie Wicks.

Majk Stokes is a comedy singer-songwriter, poet, environmentalist and Quaker, once described as “Bill Bailey’s good-looking younger brother”. He uses his sharp but gentle humour to explore some of the issues that face us all today, such as computers, coffee, politics, AI and social media, the environment and Donald Trump… and finds the funny side. (There is one, honest!)

“The combined styles and wit of Bob Dylan and Tom Lehrer” – Stagewhispers, Adelaide
“His original songs are both witty and poignant” – British Theatre Guide

Brian Mooney, a comedy veteran of many Edinburgh Fringe and Glasgow International Comedy Festival shows brings his original stories and songs from his growing up in Glasgow’s East End to his current status of man of leisure in Clydebank and everything in between. Prepare to be seriously entertained!

Stevie Wicks’ blends first world problems (dysfunctional trolleys and not getting fit) and his familiarity with the toilet (he’s not mad – he has Crohn’s Disease) to bring in the laughs.
