Julia Sutherland’s Comedy Salon
What do you get when a stand-up comic has another dream – to cut hair?
In this daring, heartfelt and hilarious hour, an audience volunteer will get their hair cut live on stage by said (unqualified) comedian, as she simultaneously performs a full solo stand-up show.
It’s a show about trust, transformation, and the intimate magic of letting someone see you up close — roots, regrets and all!
It’s about how we choose to present ourselves, the quiet theatre of a salon chair, and the absurdity of trying to stay human in a world that’s increasingly hands-off.
As the cut takes shape, so does something deeper: a meditation on self-image, expression, vulnerability, and the small, brave acts of connection that still hold us together.
Come for the jokes. Stay for the juicy gossip! Leave with a fresh perspective (and possibly a fringe).
