Jay Smith: Waist of Time (WIP)

Tennent's Laughter Lounge @ Tennent's Bar

Sunday 15th March 2026

Show time: 6:30pm

In Waist of Time, one big brave boy (Jay) invites you to join his autobiographical comedy show, reflecting on what it means to be a man who has quietly struggled with food, body image and mental health, but would very much prefer not to make a fuss about it.

Through dry humour, self-deprecation and a reflective tone, Waist of Time explores how we hide, perform, laugh at ourselves, and eventually realise that trying to fit into societal body standards is a complete waste of time. Along the way, it finds some light amongst the mess. Told with a warm, self-aware wink rather than a tiny violin.

Expect frank and quirky honesty, slow-burn punchlines, and a gentle reminder that we’re all a bit ridiculous in our heads — and that that’s okay.

Contains discussion of disordered eating and mental health, approached with humour and care.
