Gladstone’s Bag Presents a Silent Film Double Bill

Britannia Panopticon

Saturday 28th March 2026

Show time: 2:30pm

Buster Keaton’s legendary comedy classic about love, civil war and steam trains, The General.
Keaton co-directs and stars in the film as a young train engineer on his beloved train The General.
45 Minutes From Hollywood, also from 1926 and featuring early appearances by Stan Laurel (who made his debut in the Panopticon in 1906) and Oliver Hardy. Although they don’t share a scene,

Gladstone’s Bag will be playing the music and providing the sound effects live for both films. This is completely family friendly and Unmissable! But please dress very warmly as it’s a bit chilly in the music hall.
If you need wheelchair access, please contact us at info@britanniapanopticon.org at least two weeks prior so that we can arrange the appropriate member of staff to help you with our Stairclimber. Please note that we do not have disabled toilets.
