More GICF 2015 Headliners Announced

Can you believe it’s that time of year again!  Here at festival HQ we are already getting excited, and we are delighted to be able to unveil some of the latest acts confirmed for 2015!  The full programme will be revealed in January 2015, but stay tuned as there will be many acts announced over the coming weeks.

Susan Calman – Lady Like

Saturday 21 March, 8pm, £15/£13

Citizens Theatre, 119 Gorbals Street, Glasgow

Award-winning comedian Susan Calman returns to the Glasgow International Comedy Festival on her first ever UK tour.  If you’ve seen her before, ‘Lady Like’ will be a reassuring couple of hours spent with the woman her neighbours call “the mad cat lady”.  If you don’t know who she is, ‘Lady Like’ will, at the very least, make you feel better about your own life.   A show about being older, wiser and liking yourself whatever anyone might say.

Comedy from Calman, as seen and heard on The News Quiz, Calman is Convicted (Best Radio Comedy 2013 – Writers Guild Award), QI, HIGNFY, Fresh Meat and Would I Lie To You.

‘Funny, touching and unexpected.’ **** Independent

‘Calman is joyous proof that some of the best things come in small packages.’ **** Metro

‘Faultless comedy from someone at the top of her game.’ ***** Mirror

Henning Wehn - EINS, ZWEI, DIY

Tuesday 17 March, 8pm, £15

Citizens Theatre, 119 Gorbals Street, Glasgow

After more than a decade in Britain, the German Comedy Ambassador has ‘groan’ to like puns.... though he still couldn't eat a whole one. As Henning’s assimilation is not yet complete he hasn't lost his sense of Westphalian wonderment at the foibles of British society. Expect a crash course in personal accountability and have a right old laugh at the same time! Wunderbar!

‘A diplomatic master class.’ Scotsman

‘Brought the audience to its knees.’ Telegraph

‘Marvellous.’ Guardian
