This week the delightful Vikki Stone has written a blog for us and we're giving you the chance to win tickets to her show, plus we find out what makes The State Bar a special festival venue.
Vikki Stone
Vikki's only been to Glasgow once before and this will be her debut festival performance. The last time she was here she had an unfortunate encounter with an ex-X Factor contestant and walked around a mystery museum (any ideas what one? We're stumped!). You can read it here.
We have a pair of tickets to Vikki's show to give away. If you'd like to be in with a chance of winning, just tell us who was the ex-X Factor contestant that Vikki met on her first trip to Glasgow. Send your answers to info@glasgowcomedyfestival.com by 21/02/12
Vikki will be doing her Songs & Jokes at Brel on Saturday 31 March, for more information or to book tickets click here.
The State Bar
Comedy aficionados might already be familiar with The State Bar’s regular Saturday night stand-up shows, but for those not quite so familiar, let us tell you a little more about the venue and what will be on during the festival.
The State Bar has been part of the Glaswegian comedy scene for more years than we’d care to remember; it’s been a Glasgow International Comedy Festival venue every year since we started way back in 2003. Showcasing local newcomers and established headliners in jazz club style surroundings, The State has an intimate, but lively atmosphere.
This year festival-goers are being treated to a fantastic selection of solo shows from some of Scotland’s best homegrown talent. Check out comedy bluesman Dogsh*t Johnson on Friday 16 March, followed by festival veteran Obie who’ll be asking ‘who controls your mind?’
On Friday 23 March David Heffron will be sticking it to the man, and on Friday 30 March Scott Agnew will be telling Tales From The Sauna.
Every weekend of the festival the State Bar's flagship show Saturday Night at the State returns with a series of special festival line-ups with your resident compere Chris Broomfield!
