Get Set, Stand Up
This week's guest blog comes courtesy of the folks over at Impact Arts. They run free comedy workshops for 14-19 year olds who want to break into comedy. Tutored by Jay Lafferty and a host of guest comedians who drop in on a weekly basis, this is a fantastic opportunity for young people to work with successful funnymen (and women!) whilst building confidence and developing new skills. You can read more about it here.
Venue focus: Vespbar
Vespbar is a newcomer to the Glasgow bar scene and a first time comedy festival venue. Opened in October 2011, an eclectic clientele are attracted by pizza served by the metre (yes, the metre!) and Prosecco on tap. Sporting a retro-style Italian caffe interior with original 1950s seating taken straight from an ice cream parlour in glamorous Newcastle, it manages to be both a kitsch cafe and a slick city centre bar at the same time.
Tutti is the intimate basement where a whole range of events will take place during the festival. From stand-up acts to comedy movies, there will be something on every night. To see what's on and to book tickets, click here.
